Toward is a brand new collection from Hightower Studio rooted in Anne Boysen’s rich history as a Danish designer. A sofa that Anne has been meticulously perfecting for over a decade has been completely revamped and elevated from a single product to an entire collection that seamlessly blends curves with linear design.
Growing up in a family of carpenters, architecture, design and quality craftsmanship were ingrained in Anne from a young age. So when she met Natalie Hartkopf, CEO of Hightower, they immediately bonded over their shared passions for unique design and sustainable craftsmanship. And from there, the rest is history… or should we say… the future!
Toward began as Anne’s student project in 2012, embracing how humans will use furniture over the next decade. From there it became a single personal use sofa with Erik Jorgensen in the late 2010s, and now after a complete redesign with the Hightower Studio design team, Toward has finally reached its end goal. A sustainable, built-to-last modular collection that supports a diverse set of users and needs.

Anne worked closely with Shawn Sowers and the Hightower Studio Design Team to change seat depth, back pitch, leg design, and so much more to create the ultimate modular comfort solution. One that is not only beautiful and versatile, but sustainable too.
