Orgatec 2018, culture@work: what we're still talking about

Cologne, Germany:

We’ve returned from Orgatec completely inspired by our 2018 “culture@work” experience. And we couldn’t be happier to learn that this year, Orgatec increased visitors by a double-digit percentage. How? They got “emotional.” Orgatec planners reported they “addressed relevant issues emotionally and provided a whole sector with new sources of creative inspiration.”

Design professionals, like our team, couldn’t get enough. Especially related to materials. With our recent launch of designs made from sustainable cork from Portugal, and new ways we’re thinking about sourcing our wood and metal (see more about upcoming news below) Orgatec’s focus on innovative materials changing the workplace was timely and relevant.

We also loved the two distinct, but related influences Orgatec sees in workspaces around the world;  digitalization and its increasing impact on the workplace and the societal movement of more sustainable use of resources in the way we organize our home and work-life.

As our team returned to Hightower offices around the US, we’ve gathered our top visual takeaways from Orgatec 2018 and we’re showing a few design inspirations here we’re especially excited about.  Our friends and European design partners were showing up in a strong way this year with +Halle garnering a Frame magazine nomination for Best Trade Fair Stand—congrats!

Check back this month for more about our sustainability initiatives; we’re excited to share the latest certification announcements from our new Sustainability Manager, Michaela. And keep up with all Hightower by following us on social @hightowergroup.
