HighTower has expanded its lighting collection with the addition of the Orient pendant, designed by Jo Hammerborg.

Each handcrafted fixture combines beauty and function. While each is truly unique, serving a distinct purpose in design and utility, together the collection provides a diverse range of products that compliment any
space or style.

Rock Paper Scissors

Being spread out across 4 offices, we don't get to spend time all together very often so in between the business talks we make sure to have as much fun as possible. We were in Kansas City this past week for our company wide meeting, and things got pretty serious..

Now.. we love us some good old-fashioned competition at HighTower so when we heard that MO Bank was hosting a rock paper scissors tournament between the local companies on first Friday, we couldn't resist!

We all pulled on our HT shirts and after an intense internal competition we narrowed our bracket down to our best player... our Director of Manufacturing, out of High Point NC.. Mike Wynn.

We loved getting out there to cheer Mike on as he battled to win HT the coveted Rock Paper Scissors trophy.. We may not have taken it home this year but we sure had a blast :)

Boxplay @ Hotel Nobis

During the Stockholm Fair in 2011, lucky ones stayed at Nobis Hotel designed by CKR.  CKR designed the entire space and so, of course, they turned to many of their own designs to complement the interior design. Boxplay was used in this stunning lobby as well as in the larger guest rooms.

A full feature at Dezeen provides a terrific virtual tour through the space, although we highly recommend a stopover when in Stockholm!

KC office opens!

After much anticipation, we are opening our 3rd showroom and our midwest regional office in Kansas City, MO! We found a great space in the Crossroads district next to uber-hip Missouri Bank. Missouri Bank's philosophy is to be the "non-bank", they do things differently and have turned banking on its head, creating a cool, gallery like space and a personal touch... sounds like the perfect fit to us! The Crossroads is a really fun, art district, full of old warehouses-turned-galleries, coffeeshops, good food and great people.. we are excited to be the new neighbor.

Typically the first question we get is... why Kansas City? Well, if we haven't convinced you yet how great this little city is, there's more. KC is also the home of our VP of Sales, Kristin Goodman. Kristin grew up in KC and her father, Cary Goodman was an influential architect whose buildings now shape the local skyline. Kristin and our team of project managers will be working out of this new space.

Learn more about KC here!

The butcher paper is coming down kids.. We are officially open so if you are a local KC designer or just happen to be in town, we'd love to see you! Pop over for a coffee and check it out :)

Wanna work for HighTower? We're also hiring for Project Managers, if you're interested email resumes@hightoweraccess.com.

Get to Know Us

Over the years when we tell people why HighTower was started, we talk about the vision; a vision for how things COULD be done. We had seen first hand how the big guys did it and if we were going to build something from scratch we wanted to rethink everything we thought we knew about contract furniture companies.

One of our primary goals was to be a platform for young up and coming designers, who were working on exciting new designs that were relevant to the way people are working NOW and to give interior designers and architects a resource for products that weren't overexposed and allowed them to put their personal signature on the spaces they're working on.

Oh.. And we were going to do this as a family, a father and his two daughters, starting a business together, merging decades of expertise of how things have been done with an excitement for what might be possible, new ways of thinking, new ways of working.. and as anyone who has been involved in a family business knows, your work quickly becomes your heart and your life.. and the topic of every holiday dinner.

But there is something else that makes our company special and is a key component of our success... the team of people behind us. We set out to hire only nice people, and to create a team that people enjoyed working with, both internally and for our clients.

6 years later we are so proud of the team we have working with us and we're excited to get to share a behind the scenes look with you into our company, our philosophies, and what our team is up to so you can get to know us better! Check back often.. we have lots of exciting new things up our sleeves.
