BroomeJenkins

BroomeJenkins

Broome Jenkins are product designers that bring together considerable industrial experience with an interest in how people use different environments, and how to make different spaces function. They were formed in 2003, and based in West Sussex UK.

Their clients range from Manufacturers to City Councils. They are focused on developing products that are useful, responsible and valued. They believe that genuinely good design survives because it addresses essential needs, efficiently and responsibly.

Although their design experience is drawn from many different sectors, they specialise in designing for the workplace. This can mean research led strategies, spacial concepts, furniture and work-tools that address the changing needs of the workplace and workforce. Having worked on many furniture systems over the years with leading furniture manufacturers, they know that complex assemblies and large component inventories are of little value to the user and are no longer economically or environmentally justifiable. So increasingly they are driven by the design responsibility to be efficient and sustainable in the things we design and how they impact the user and the world in general.

Casey Keasler

Casey Keasler

Casework is a women-owned team of visionaries who guide the human experience and create environments based on a unique path.

With residential and boutique commercial projects on the West Coast and beyond, we believe the power of design can spark positive change and create a future that promotes everyone's equity, resilience, and well-being. Simply put, good design makes life better. As the founder of Casework, Casey Keasler set out to build a business that not only establishes meaning in the interiors she and her team create but also become a foundation for growth and possibilities for those involved. Casey has worked in interior design for over fifteen years and each project, no matter the size, is considered with...passion and attention to detail. She isn't interested in filling a space with pretty things, she wants each project to tell a unique story. At the root, she believes, we are designers looking for meaning in the work we produce. We are listeners, managers, detectives, advisors, advocates, and visionaries. When not running a design studio, Casey can be found remodeling her own 1966 Ranchalow in NE Portland with her spunky rescue pitbull, Izzy, riding her motorcycle on backroads in Oregon or chipping away at her travel bucket list. Next up, Copenhagen!

Here, Cecilie Manz designs furniture, glass, lamps, and related products, mainly for the home. In...addition to her work with industrial products, her experimental prototypes and more sculptural one-offs make up an important part of her work and approach: “I view all my works as fragments of one big, ongoing story where the projects are often linked or related in terms of their idea, materials, and aesthetics, across time and function. Some objects remain experiments or sculpted ideas, others are made more concrete and turned into functional tools. "The task or project itself often holds the key to inspiration; ideas don’t come from waiting but from leg work, drafting, and trials. My work goes from the inside out, and a project has to possess a sound, strong, and relevant idea or functional justification before I address the actual physical design. My work has always revolved around simplicity, the process of working toward a pure, aesthetic, and narrative object.”

Nick Ross
Nick Ross

"My design is somewhere in-between Scottish and Scandinavian"

Born in Inverness, Scotland, Nick Ross studied industrial design at Gray’s School of Arts in Aberdeen and was awarded the Arts & Heritage award upon graduation in 2008. Now based in Sweden, Ross completed a Master’s Degree in Interior Architecture and Furniture Design at Konstfack, Stockholm and began establishing a name for himself, opening his eponymous studio in 2014. Ross is often inspired to design with a focus on ancient history, where he finds the factors with which to interpret the relationship between the user and contemporary design. Using storytelling as a pretext and applying a confidently critical approach, Ross studies happenings that have determined...specific cultural balances. Every project comes from the desire to create ideal or real bridges between the present to that of the past. Shared Ross, “My work looks at the role of history and storytelling in how we perceive the world around us, by working with themes such as place, origin, and the role fiction plays in past and present societies.” Our award-winning Proto collection, designed by Nick Ross, beautifully reveals this sensitivity to materials that makes bold moves appear delicate.

Studio Ocee

Studio Ocee

Functionality, combined with beautiful design, and a healthy dose of wonder, is what makes Studio Ocee smile from ear to ear. Therefore, this permeates all of their designs. All designs by Studio Ocee must be innovative, decorative and functional with a subtle element of surprise. That is their design philosophy called FDA. Function, Design and Aha.

“We talk about FDA perpetually because we are very adamant about it. It is the backbone of our approach to the way we do things and serves as a succinct summary of our vision, product strategy, and goals. It’s our design philosophy. That something special. The added value.”

Studio Yonoh

Studio Yonoh

Yonoh’s work is characterized by simple, yet functional designs.

Yonoh was inspired in 2004 when Clara del Portillo and Alex Selma met at an exhibition for young designers in Valencia Spain. Since their formal founding in 2006, Yonoh studio has won dozens of prestigious worldwide awards including Interior Design Magazine’s Best of the Year, the Red Dot IF design award, Good Design, and Wallpaper Design Awards. A collision of past, present and future is the essence of Studio Yonoh. The collaborations of Clara and Alex capture the vibrant colors of Valencia; held neatly within white walls and clean lines of their modern glass studio contrasted by the street’s paving stones, cascading window plants of neighboring, brightly colored apartments, and the...wrought iron balconies adorning their alleyway. Scandinavian minimalism is reflected in the studio’s influences with, as Clara puts it, a little “Mediterranean daring” mixed in. Yonoh’s work is characterized by simple, yet functional designs; simplicity, innovation and originality, without extravagance, sum up their design philosophy with each small detail minutely studied for each of their projects. Clara and Alex feel their opposing personalities make up a very interesting creative group with Alex being more of a risk-taking designer and Clara approaching projects from a more technical, meticulous perspective. Admittedly, their styles were not distinct upon meeting and they’ve continued to develop collaboratively through the years. Yonoh’s Lana seating for Ondarreta is available exclusively from Hightower to North American clients.
